The starting point for this project was to understand the daily dynamics of a young family of four: two parents and their two small children, aged 4 and 5. The need was clear: optimize the playroom, a space that also functions as a TV lounge and study area. The family was looking for furniture that would not only adapt to the children's activities — between playtime, homework, and screen time — but also provide comfort and practicality for the parents, whether for relaxing or working from home.

The main challenge was to design a piece that balanced aesthetics and functionality, maintaining order and making the most of every inch of available space. From these needs, a multifunctional piece of furniture was born, blending smart design, ergonomics, and versatility, incorporating two desks and hidden storage areas to transform the environment according to the moment and the user.

From Concept to Creation: Design Built to Adapt

Based on the identified needs, the furniture design focused on three key pillars: versatility, organization, and modern aesthetics.

The result is a piece of furniture that not only meets the family’s functional needs but also enhances the space’s aesthetics — proving that well-thought-out design can improve the everyday experience for all its users.

This multifunctional furniture piece seamlessly combines style and practicality with its two side bookshelf towers, lower storage compartments featuring wicker baskets for toys, and a central credenza providing discreet storage through drawers and flip-down doors.

Functional desks with swivel chairs occupy both ends, creating ideal spaces for work or study. The malt-colored melamine design showcases a 65-inch TV as its centerpiece.

The thoughtfully planned lighting system includes recessed lights alongside the TV and pendant fixtures above the desks, ensuring optimal visual comfort throughout each zone.
